The Austin Album:)

In literacy we were asked to create a CD cover, so Jenae and i thought we’d go one step further in creating an entire album!!! We did pretty well so yeah…
This album was written by the legendary Emily and Jenae (commonly known as Henry and Brian) There inspiration came from the one, the only Austin Bidgood (a fellow Lindisfarne scout) although Pittwater and Lindisfarne aren’t ment to be friends Henry and Brian got passed that and started the stalking that would last a life time…
After finding out everything there is to know about Austin Bidgood Henry and Brian began on the surge of creating the Austin Album. The songs were created during school and on camps and on October the 5th 2010 the Austin Album was recorded in our very own Pittwater scout hall, the CD was a hit and is now loved worldwide…Jenae and Emily would just like to thank Austin for the inspiration!!!
Thanks Austin!

We have many songs on our album such as:

I ate Austin (dedicated to Lindisfarne)
I’m a barbie Austin
No Austin’s
I can hear the bells (Austin remix)
Thats’s amore-austin
Austin, Austin, Austin
Hit me baby, one orange afro
Austin, the Lindisfarne guy
We will, we will Austin you
We are the Austins!

Jenae and i are looking forward to recording a second album very soon. We are just in the mist of creating a few more Austin remixes to delight and amuse:) If you’d like a copy of the Austin Album log onto ebay or send me an e-mail…haha.

Simulation Games:)

after visiting http://www.sormid67.edublogs.org i played a few simulation games. I played Sweatshop and 3rd World Farming. They were some pretty intence games.

Sweatshop – in sweatshop you were asked to make co many shoes in a day but you had to watch your energy and buy food and water when needed. It was particually hard because i kept running out of energy then i ran out of money and then i died, if you ever play this game i suggest watching your energy closly and working fast. I spent all my money on water then my person died because it needed food. I wasn’t very good at thar game. You really have to be paying attention when playing you play these games…

3rd World Farmer – I liked this game, despite the fact i wasn’t the best at it. The object of the game was to keep your farm going despite of all the droughts, floods, cults of people and events of the year. It started out being quite hard. To begin with i started just doing whatever and losing all my money and killing people all my people. Then as i kept playing i thought long term into what i planted and what i bought. I started going great then all this stuff happened involving tax hikes and things involving the government and the events for the year and so i started losing my money, my people started dying and i lost the game. You lose once you’ve killed your family. The more crops you planted the more money you got so i planted a heap of corn then the event of the year wiped out all corn so i lost all my money and died. There are alot of twists in the game but it kinda makes you wanna keep playing it, improve.

It was funny playing it with Makenzie and trying to see who could last the longest. Sadley he bet me): but he has more computer experience than me…haha!!!

A positive digital footprint :-)

What do people see you as on the internet?

A positive digital footprint or a Negative???

A positive digital footprint is what people see if they look you up on the internet, if you apply for a job your employer can look at your Facebook and Myspace and common sites like google ect.

Teenagers and even adults will go out on the weekend to a party, get drunk and take pictures of themselves doing stupid and just plain wrong things. If they then upload these pictures onto Myspace or Facebook ect. then anyone can see it, its the same with writing your status. If you write about how totally sick the party was and how drunk you got then anyone can see it. If you apply for a job then your employer seearches your Myspace or Facebooks and finds everything you’ve said and the photos you’ve uploaded then its not that certen that you’ll be considered for the job.

What type of image is your blog or Myspace giving to the world?

Do you update it regulary? Do you make sure everything is spelled correctly and makes sence? If you want to be able to get a job when your older you have to learn how to create a positive digital footprint as a pposed to a negative, here are some helpful tips that can make a huge difference…

-  Always make sure everything you put on your Blog, Myspace ect. makes sence.

- Don’t use bad laungage on your Blog, Myspace ect.

- If you do  go out to a party and get drunk (not that you should) but don’t post anything about it on your Blog, Myspace ect.

- If you upload a picture of yourself or someone else and then suddenly delete it, remember that even though its deleted your employer can still see it. Always make sure your ok with what your uploading before you do…

- Don’t comment other people’s Blogs, Myspace’s ect. with bad laungage…

there are many more tips you can use to insure you have a positive digital footprint, if you would like more infomation visit this site – http://msn.careerbuilder.com/Article/MSN-2045-Job-Info-and-Trends-Build-a-Digital-Footprint-You-Can-Be-Proud-Of/?ArticleID=2045&cbRecursionCnt=1&cbsid=fdf5dd2fee67410fada899a4158611ae-308958992-w3-6

all these tips are things to be thinking of when your’re applying for a job or just in genral when people look you up…♥

Phys Ed at school

In history today we have to answer the question – All students from grades 5-12 should spend at least one hour per day school time in physical activities?

See our History blog for more information.

Support:

  • It is proven that to stay healthy kids should do 30 minutes of physical activity a day.
  • Most kids don’t get the amount of exercise they should and this would be a better way to ensure they are getting the right amount of exercise they need each day.

Oppose:

  • Most kids don’t like p.e and so they would wag and only the people who enjoy p.e would show up.
  • In p.e they only play a cretin range of sports and most of them are more of boy sports that girls don’t enjoy, doing more of it would make a lot of students unhappy.

I personally don’t agree to this. I don’t enjoy p.e and having more of it wouldn’t be at the top of my list. They don’t do many of the sports i enjoy and being in a class with boys gives them more of an advantage.

If the government were to make this a law who would we have to convince?

  • I think we would have to convince the sport teachers to make sure they were able to do all that p.e teaching to make this possiable.
  • The people of government would have to agree because they are the ones who have the power to accually make this a law.
  • The governer of education would have to agree as he makes most decisions on how schools are run.
  • Most of the students would have to agree because there is no point putting in a lwa that makes all the school kids unhappy.

Group Decisions

My oppinion in responce to the Gr8 History Blog:

Well if im going to see a movie with my freinds everyone usally wants to see that same thing but if someone didn’t agree then we would just talk it over and most of the time we care more about meeting up than what we do, we all really have the same intrests anyway so thats what makes us really good friends.

At home its really not much of a problem because if mum is on the computer i can just go on my lap-top (same with my brother James) and if i wanted to watch t.v but i couldn’t i would just take a dvd up to my room and watch something by myself.

Its kinda a problem if i need to use the internet but most of the time i don’t. Mum is looking at getting us internet things so we can access it on our lap-tops. If i fight with my brother mum will always find out who started it and why.

My brother always wants to do everything his way and sometimes i get mad, then my grandma reminds me that sometimes you have to be flexable and think of others, you can’t always do what you want to do and that really stuck to me.

I think a good way to make a decision is to talk to each other. Make everyone feel equal like there is no leader and in that way you can reach a verdict.
Its really easy if your all in a circle and you put your ideas out there but some are more popular than others and so they may make fun of what someone says which makes it really hard because they just go along with it and don’t say what they really feel. . . . . .
Sometimes you need a leader to keep the group going not to say i like this and so do you but to guide them someone who doesn’t really have a side just want everyone to agree to the same things. Who wants people to speak out what they believe in.
There are so many ways that we can make decisions but i believe talking it over always helps!

Would you save The Great Barrier Reef or Uluru and why?

                               Vs.

in my class we were given an assignment, we have to prepaire for a debaite on wheather we should save The Great Barrier Reef or Uluru and why? – i choose The Great Barrier Reef.

There are so many reasons to save The Great Barrier Reef.

There are so many things that could destroy The Great Barrier Reef – climate change and oil spills and things have a huge affect on The Grear Barrier Reef. Tourists who visit sometimes destroy small parts of The Great Barrier Reef, not that im saying its a bad thing i mean The Great Barrier Reef genorates millions of tourists each year.

Another reason is that it is the biggest coral reef in the world – i mean thats why its so popular but if it got destroyed we would have the biggest heap of junk in the world and people wouldn’t travell far and wide from all over the world to see that.

The Great Barrier Reef has is slowly already destroying itself, its not much but we could be preventing this.

To get to The Great Barrier Reef you take a nice, relaxing cruise out to the reef and enjoy it taking a ride on the glass bottom boat but if you go to Uluru you have to drive for hours on end on a dirty, gravell road which is bad for your car just to see a rock.

More things live in The Great Barrier Reef, millions of fish and sea creatures would lose their lives. Nothing lives on Uluru its just a rock taking up room.

Their isn’t really much you can do to destroy a rock but millions of things could destry The Great Barrier reef.

The aboriginals don’t like people climbing on Uluru and i don’t think you will be able to do it for much longer, why go climb it when everytime you do your just making them madder! And after they ban people from climbing it you will only be able to look at it and thats just plain boaring so there will just be no point.

Save The Great Barrier Reef!
